Born in 1947, Jean-Claude ETTINGER holds a « Business Engineer » degree (1970) and a PhD in Management Sciences (1980) of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Brussels University).
After 3 years as assistant general manager in a hospital equipment company, he joined back the Solvay Business School to start a consulting group. In the meantime, after a doctoral dissertation about personal aspects of business start-ups, he has developed an academic and business career focused on entrepreneurship and support to entrepreneurs.
In this context, he founded in 1983 “Solvay Entrepreneurs”, an incubator offering integrated support to entrepreneurs and SME owners-managers. Since then, under his leadership, Solvay Entrepreneurs has developed many executive education programmes and consulting/mentoring services as well as a 3500 m² facility dedicated to hosting of start-ups: this integrated approach has contributed to the success of more than two thousand of new or developing companies having generated thousands of new jobs.
An experienced consultant in SME and innovation management, he is member of several boards of Belgian and international companies and institutions. He teaches entrepreneurship in the SBS-EM programmes in Vietnam and has authored many publications on entrepreneurship and consulting for SME’s.
