Ada Kruisbeek is the founder of DCPrime, a clinical stage cancer vaccine company. Her scientific career has been dedicated to gaining insights into how the immune system works against cancer. After she obtained her PhD in 1978, she spent 14 years as a scientist at the National Cancer Institute, NIH, Bethesda, MD, and became Professor at GW University in Washington, DC, in 1984. In 1992, she became Head of the Department of Immunology at the NKI-AVL in Amsterdam, Professor of Immunology at VU University in 1993, and Professor of Knowledge Valorization at VU University in 2010. During her academic career, Ada served on multiple advisory boards of national and international scientific agencies and editorial boards. From 2012 on, Ada has been working fulltime for DCPrime. She also has been active at the interface between science, business and regional development in the Dutch life sciences sector for 10 years and serves on several advisory boards.
