Fast track investment readiness and internationalization - Recommendations from EMMINVEST

The EMMINVEST programme members are organising a workshop on promoting investment readiness and internationalization in Dusseldorf on 9th December 2014.

The session is underpinned by the experience of a two-year pilot, which focused on facilitating investment into entrepreneurial SMEs to build in the medium term, mobile mobility services & products into sizable, sustainable and internationalized businesses.

The pilot programme followed an integrated approach which involved the development of the following separate but concurrent tracks.

  • Firstly, new advanced coaching schemes were developed and tested to fast-track investment and growth readiness of mobile and mobility service companies through a combination of peer group seminars/webinars, assignments, and peer group feedback, including a “train the trainers” outline.
  • Secondly, the investor community was targeted through a webinar expert programme, as well as investor portfolio review peer group sessions and access to existing successful investment matching programmes.
  • Thirdly, a pragmatic cross-border co-investment facility was developed and tested, comprised of investment groups, seed & angel initiatives and funding sources, and put to the benefit of the aforementioned companies and investors.

The team that headed the programme will be presenting the resulting experience and with the help of field experts, add to an updated methodology targeted at both sides of the investment negotiation table.

The session is organised within the framework of the European Venture Summit, Europe's leading networking and investment event for high growth technology start-ups, venture capital investors and technology corporations. It offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow their businesses across borders.
