COOPERATION DAYS 2016

Building strategic linkages between India & Europe

 

The seventh edition of the EU-India Science Technology and Innovation Cooperation Days will take place on 21-22 September 2016 in the National Institute of Oceanography in Goa, India. The event is organised by the Indigo Policy and Inno Indigo projects with support from the European Commission.

SMEs, researchers, and policy makers will join the event to discuss ongoing and future cooperation and to set the scene for further fruitful initiatives in the field of STI. The EU-India STI Cooperation Days aim at supporting new research and business networks on issues of priority interest for both regions, and to promote funding opportunities offered by the EU, India, bilateral programmes and by industry.

This edition will be in particular focused on bioeconomy, including marine and maritime research, in order to maximize future scientific and business collaboration in this field.

Discover

The participants will have the chance to learn about the latest developments in EU-India cooperation in research and innovation directly from leading European and Indian policy makers from the Department of Biotechnology and the European Commission.

Excellent results of EU-India research and innovation projects will be presented and discussed with the audience.

Keynote speakers from the academic and entrepreneurship world will bring true inspiration to the audience.

The final stage of the Indigo Young Scientist Competition will take place during the EU-India STI Cooperation Days. Young European and Indian researchers will present their project ideas in short videos and compete to become the INDIGO Young Scientist 2015 to win a trip to participate in the scientific conference of their choice. More information

Explore

During a dedicated open space session, cooperation priorities for the future will be identified. All participants will have the chance to build the agenda on the spot by suggesting a topic they feel passionate about for in-depth group discussion and explore its potential for future partnerships.

valorisation workshop will gather a panel of experts to show the road from research results to commercialisation.

Visits to outstanding research institutes and companies will be organised for all interested participants to learn more about the research and innovation environment in Goa.

Network

During the Open House, representative from European and Indian funding agencies, embassies and initiatives supporting research and innovation cooperation will involve the participants in small group discussions.

In the Networking Cafè participants will meet each other during pre-arranged bilateral meetings, giving them a chance to discuss new projects and collaborations.

  • Sustainable Food Security – research and innovation all along the food chain, from primary production, food processing to healthy and safe foods and diets.
  • Blue Growth –Testing, demonstrating, scaling-up and bringing to the market innovative marine and maritime technologies, products and services, as well as exploring the interactions between the oceans and human health, and strengthening the capability to observe and map oceans and seas basins.
  • Rural Renaissance – Innovation as driver for rural development, with a particular emphasis on developing framework conditions for innovation and new business models adapted to the rural context, and support for skills development in rural communities.
  • Bio-based innovation for sustainable goods and services – Securing sustainable biomass supply for biobased goods and services and the future development of bio-based markets, for example by promoting stakeholder engagement.
