First ten years have passed for Russian BIC IDEA

The first ten years have passed for the Russian BIC “innovational production technopark IDEA” and EBN was in Kazan, in the Tatarstan Republic, on the 20th of February to celebrate the BIC and its impressive achievements.

The event was attended at the highest levels with the presence of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who opened the talks with sincere and profound congratulations for the BIC, whose committed leaders have brought to an outstanding technopark, which delivers a highly successful incubation program creating an average of 60 start-ups per year, with an employment of 1800 people currently working in the incubated companies.

“At present, Tatarstan is one of the most advanced regions in terms of creation of innovative infrastructure” said President Minnikhanov reminding also that “Idea” is the first technopark in Russia which became an accredited BIC and joined the European BIC Network (EBN) as full member.

Giordano Dichter, who was representing EBN at that occasion, reminded also that thanks to the visionary leadership of the Kazan people, it was possible to start building a strong network of BICs in the Russian Federation. Indeed the Kazan experience inspired other incubators to become certified BICs in Kransoyarsk and Novosibirsk.

President Rustam Minnikhanov also awarded Technopark “Idea” CEO Sergey Yushko with the title of “Honoured worker of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan.

EBN wishes to congratulate Sergey Yushko and his team for this achievement and for being such an active member of EBN and a firm believer of its values.
