ESIL welcomes CorkBIC in the community!

CorkBIC is a private-sector led EU|BIC that has been an innovator in accessing finance for early stage companies for 20+ years, being specifically set up to identify and build knowledge intensive companies based on promising technology and capable innovative people, facilitating €40M of finance for over 80 companies from a mix of VC and angel sources over the past 10 years.

CorkBIC manages HBAN (The Halo Business Angel Network) in the South west and Mid West of Ireland, supports the Boole Angel Syndicate in Cork and the Irrus Angel Syndicate in Limerick, is a member of EBAN - The European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds and Early Stage Market Players, and works closely with many organisations like the Local Enterprise Offices, Enterprise Ireland and the other Irish EU|BICs. Moreover, CorkBIC works constantly at raising the number of female entrepreneurs and investors.

CorkBIC is preparing the launch ESIL in its ecosystem of entrepreneurs and investors on Tuesday 15th May and Wednesday 16th May during  The Entrepreneurs Experience event.

Pete Smyth will chair the event and give an overview about the activites promoted by ESIL. Pete is the founder and CEO of Broadlake, a private investment company focused on investing in established and growing SMEs. Broadlake manages €100m of family capital, investing €1-10m in ambitious businesses.  Pre-Broadlake Pete was CEO of Noonan Services Group where he led the Group through a period of high growth culminating in the sale of the business in 2008. 

This event is a unique opportunity for 24 emerging entrepreneurs to gain unparalleled access, advice and mentoring from 24 of Ireland’s most successful business leaders over 24 hours, including:

  • one-to-one sessions,
  • deep dive analysis,
  • constructive group sessions,
  • pitching sessions
  • and inspiring plenary sessions.
