TURAS Conference: unlocking urban resilience

On the 13th of January 160+ delegates from 24 countries ad several EBN Members gathered in Brussels for the TURAS Conference under the theme "Resilient Cities: Novel tools for local authorities" discussing practical ideas to unlock urban resilience.

Over the last three years local authorities from 10 European cities have been working closely with researchers and business partners to come up with novel tools and innovative approaches to help European cities help themselves to build resilience from the inside out. Now it was time to brainstorm together with businesses, policy makers and local and regional authorities to foster the uptake of these research results.

Venue: new premises of Brussels Enviroment

Six local authorities from different cities and regions of Europe presented in 5 minute ‘pitches’ the new tools they have been working on to build urban resilience.  A panel of experts then discussed on the usefulness and transferability of these outcomes into real applications. The event also had the participation and collaboration of the European Commission.
