After one and a half years of activity, FabSpace 2.0 is expanding and is involving new partners to enlarge the FabSpace European Network.
During the past months FabSpace 2.0 has organised a challenge at European level (about using Earth Observation for assessing population leaving in a certain area) and various challenges at national level (transportation infrastructures, agriculture, electricity generation, among others). A number of Open days, Space Science Shops and Innovation Days have been organised as well, with attendance by Earth Observation experts and end-users from Industry and Institutions.
From contacts developed with these end-users, specific opportunities for sources of revenues to provide the future sustainability of FabSpace 2.0 have been identified, mainly consisting of:
- Training Packages (for Industry and Institutions) addressing, at different specialization levels, the application capabilities and the rapidly evolving scenario of Earth Observation and Geospatial Information;
- Technical and Application Assistance for assessing the feasibility (Industry and Institutions) and for developing innovative applications (SMEs and IT companies);
- Specialised Services of various nature, providing Earth Observation and space technology content, (e.g. to corporates interested in improving their visibility as innovative companies involved in new technologies and sustainability issues) or commercial support/brokerage (e.g. to startups and SMEs that want to develop their presence at International level).
We are now looking to expand our network, involving other Universities and other Incubators, both in the space application domain and in other disciplines.
Join us and send your application within the 30th of September, to become part of the Core Team of FabSpace 2.0. FabSpace 2.0 is currently coordinating with ESA to establish cooperation with the newly established ESA PhiLab that will foster innovation in an end-to-end approach along the value chain from applications up to new satellite missions also of mini-micro size.
In the documentation below, you will find a package of information and the FabSpace 2.0 Application Form that can be filled in in about a couple of hours. Please, do not hesitate to contact Marcello Maranesi or Aurélie Baker for any questions.
