The Next Society: a new EBN project in the Mediterranean area

The Next Society project has officially started its activity on 15th May with the organisation of its Kick Off in Athens, Greece.

In line with the mission of the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Commission, which is to take forward the neighbourhood and enlargement policies supporting reforms and democratic consolidation while promoting EU values, policies and interests in the region.

The Next Society is composed by two projects, MedValley and MedVentures, both coordinated by the network ANIMA, partner of EBN, locate in Marseille. Over a period of four years, this very ambitious action is aiming at removing barriers to innovation and unleash creative potential in the Mediterranean, reinforcing innovation ecosystems and fostering value creation. Project partners compose an open community of change makers (entrepreneurs, investors, corporate, NGOs, private and public research and economic development hubs), engaged innovation and economic development.

In The Next Society, EBN (present in the meeting with Raffaele Buompane), will take care of a series of strategic training events on Intellectual Property and on mobility from the MENA towards the EU of project beneficiaries facilitating their immersion in the best EU innovative ecosystems while letting them exchange with local experts and practitioners.

EBN members will be soon involved in the organisation of the mobility visits and in the training, following the model already tested and improved over the last three past years within the EuroMed@Change action.
