Monday 29 September, 25 participants of the YUZZ Competition – a national young talent competition taking place all over Spain – and 3 representatives of the BIC of Burgos visited the European Space Research and the Technology Centre of ESTEC which is part of the European Space Agency.
D. Niels Eldering and Mercedes Sánchez of the Technology Transfer Programme Office welcomed the Spanish delegation for a visit of ESTEC and a presentation of the results and their impact in Europe as well as the projects implemented through the programme. The visitors had the opportunity to discuss about their own projects and new technologies that could be applied as well as related R&D projects.
After a tour at the Erasmus User Centre Tour + 3D show where they could visualize how various space elements operate such as Columbus, the Galileo system, satellites, etc. , our young visitors were guided to an ESA BIC incubator. There they could meet the Spanish leaders of a company specialised in drones, Avionics Control Systems, who explained how to lunch a start-up abroad and what the differences with Spain are.
The whole delegation came back to Spain on the Tuesday, the head full of souvenirs and rich of a new shared experience.
