A new Bioincubator for CEEI Asturias

Since 16 September, the BIC of Asturias manages the BIOCEEI, the incubator specialised in the accompaniment of companies specialised in health sciences. Located in Oviedo it was built by the City Council in the framework of the Urban and Oviedo Emprende Plan in the surroundings of the Central University Hospital of Asturias.


The extensive experience of the BIC in the field of Life Sciences focusing on the detection, the implementation and the consolidation of new innovative companies in this field was key to the signature of a cooperation agreement with the city of Oviedo resulting in the management of its own bio-incubator within the technology park of Asturias
With an occupancy rate of 100%, the site welcomes 60 bio-entrepreneurs and projects, 13 newly created companies representing all together 5 million euros of funding raised for these companies.
Eva Pando, CEO of Bic Asturias, at inauguration The oficial inauguration took place on 21 October in the presence of the Mayor of Oviedo, Agustín I. Caunedo, the Councillors for Economy and Employment, Graciano Torre; and for Helath, Faustino Blanco; the President of the, Carlos Morilla and the Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor. They all underlined the milestone this cooperation represents behind the implementation of such a strategic project for the region.

Over 150 attendees were present that day and could listen to successful stories from companies accompanied by the BIC: Tesis Medical Solutions, Treelogic, Microdan, Instituto Fernández Vega, Dropsens, Fisiobot and ITMA-PRODINTEC.
