The Early Stage Investing Launchpad (ESIL) has been officially presented in France and Spain this April, in separate launch events taking place in Paris and Madrid. ESIL aims to be represented in all EU28 states and Horizon2020 associated countries to build the ESIL community through structuring and professionalising Business Angels. France Angels and AEBAN are the first two ESIL partners, to take on the vital task of strengthening early stage Angel investors for the ESIL community.
Business Angels Europe's French member France Angels, in cooperation with Bpifrance, organised a general assembly accompanied by the Spring University 2018 (Université de Printemps 2018). As part of the event that took place in Paris on 9-10 April, France Angels introduced the ESIL project by running an international workshop on exits. The European ESIL programme was presented by Philippe Gluntz, ESIL Archangel, Vice President of France Angels and Honorary President of Business Angels Europe.
Likewise, ESIL partner for Spain AEBAN, has launched the programme at the press presentation of the AEBAN / IESE survey on trends concerning angel investment in Spain on 12 April, attended by 34 business angels, investors and incubators managers and 7 journalists. Further explanation about the incorporation of AEBAN into the ESIL programme was offered to the partners in the General Assembly. More events and activities are coming both in Spain and France, in order to improve the early stage ecosystem. Stay tuned.
Looking forward, Italy and Greece will be the next countries where ESIL programme will be put into action. The Business Angels Network Greece (BANG) will present the project as ESIL partner in the the launching event that will take place in the Incubator Building-ACCI, in Athens, 2 May 2018.
The ESIL plan for Italy is also confirmed and the launch event will be held in Milan, on 30-31 May 2018. The Italian Business Angel Network Association (IBAN), which is focused on the development and the growth of Business Angels phenomena in Italy, is taking the lead in this country.
