EBN members and partners, there is a great chance to celebrate success of your innovative clients or any outstanding inventor, even yourself - nominations for the European Inventor Award 2018 are now open!
Organised by the European Patent Office (EPO),the Award recognises outstanding inventors from around the world, from all technical fields and backgrounds who have come up with innovations of great social and/or economic benefit, and which have been granted European patents (at least one still in force).
This year’s fifteen finalists are excellent ambassadors not just for the patent system but for innovation as a whole. In each of their films they explain their inventions as well as the benefits to society and the economy, frequently mentioning the importance of innovation in their business models
The media coverage generated by the EPO for the Award finalists is enormous, with over 2,800 reports in journals, blogs, websites and TV shows around the world. The Award not only promotes the benefits of innovation and the patent system, it also reflects positively on all those working with inventors to help them create value from inventions, such as EBN members.
Many of the Award’s finalists are successful SMEs and start-ups, and great promoters for the work of innovation advisers and business support organisations, such as:
Gert Jan Gruter (NL; plant-based plastic bottles);
Tue Johannessen, Ulrich Quaade & team (DK; Ammonia storage to reduce NOx)
Steve Lindsey (UK; energy-saving rotary air compressor)
The application procedure is free, simple and can be made online in minutes.
Deadline: October 16
