EBN participates in hearing at REGI Committee of the European Parliament
Last 16 February, EBN's CEO Philippe Vanrie participated in a hearing of the REGI Committee of the European Parliament, to discuss the draft report on Cohesion Policy, Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3), elaborated by EP Vice President Valcarcel Siso. The REGI Committee is responsible within the European Parliament for the Union’s regional development and cohesion policy.
Beyond analysing the current situation, the networks participating in the hearing (EBN, EURADA, EARTO and ERRIN) added to the discussion by highlighting challenges and demonstrating successful cases from their work in the field. EBN contributed to the discussion by making the case for EU|BICs as essential tools for implementing regional policies on the ground level.
When completed, this report will provide the necessary push for the implementation of the RIS3 strategies.
