Laurent WITZ, CEO of Watt Frame, a company followed up and hosted by the EU|BIC CEEI Synergie incubator in Yutz (France) has won the award for Best Animated Short Film for Mr Hublot.
Both directors Laurent Witz and Alexandre Espigares , two first-time nominees, accepted the Award for the film that chronicles the sweet and funny relationship between a man and a robotic pet.
"Mr. Hublot" , a joint Franco-Luxembourger production, was written by Laurent Witz. Alexandre Espigares, who co-directed, is known for his animation work on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," "9" and "Happy Feet Two."
"I didn't expect to get an Oscar" said Witz, "my house is so small but I will find some room for it! I feel it’s an American dream and thank you Mr. Hublot for making this dream become reality!"
The production took several years to make, but the two creators said they are already working on "a new project, a long animated movie for TV broadcasters."
