Representative of Portuguese BICs - CEIM-BIC Madeira (Portugal)
Patrícia Dantas de Caires, is Portuguese. Born in Mozambique (past Portuguese Colony) in 1972, is graduated in Economics by the Universidade Nova de Lisboa that leads this 2010/11 Edition of QS University Ranking1 amongst other Portuguese Universities.
Entrepreneurship and innovation are key elements for her life and the most recent trainings in those areas (Technology Entrepreneurship Education - Theory to Practice by Berkerley University of California, Entrepreneurship Development Program by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and the Pos-graduation in M@nagment.com by INDEG – ISCTE Business School) have definitely contributed to the work and the projects that she has been involved!
Working in BIC Madeira (Portugal) since 2001, in 2005 she became its CEO and the connection to BIC´s world is very strong… Since March 2007 till now, she has been one of the Vice Presidents of BICS – Portuguese Business Innovation Center Network and since May 2009 till now she is one of EBN - European Business Innovation Center Network the Board’s Member, therefore representing Portuguese BIC´s.
Patricia has been extensively involved in European, National and Regional funding initiatives for the past 12 years and has an advisory role towards the regional government in the entrepreneurship and innovation scope.
