Margaret Mulligan is Head EU Relations and a Senior Project Leader and at EBN. Her main responsibilities are to ensure EBN is represented at the most relevant levels within the EU institutions, enabling EBN to contribute to policy, and EBN members to benefit from EU actions. She is also the manager of the Creative Industries Special Interest Group (SIG).
Margaret joined the EBN in September 2012. As a Senior Project Leader, she works on a range of initiatives in the ICT and Creative Industries sectors, with a particular focus on accelerating the international growth of Europe's high potential start-ups. Since 2013 she has been coordinating the ACE and ACE Creative acceleration programmes (www.europeanace.eu and www.acecreative.eu) which have supported over 200 highly innovative European SMEs to rapidly scale into new markets. Support entrepreneurs receive through ACE and ACE Creative is tailor made to match their needs and maximise their growth potential. The range of support available includes: investment readiness training and opportunities to pitch to international investors; fast-track networking opportunities and introductions to potential clients, distributors and investors; living lab validation; and expert mentoring.
Prior to joining EBN in September 2012, Margaret worked as the Research Forum Coordinator at the European Foundation Centre in Brussels, where she was responsible for facilitating the development of joint activities between research-funding foundations and their stakeholders. Previously, as an Information and Communication Officer at the Research Enquiries Service of the European Commission she gained extensive experience of EU funding programmes, in particular the Framework Programmes for research and innovation. Margaret has a BA in Sociology and French from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Sociology (Research) from the London School of Economics.
