General Course in Incubation Management
Archived project
This project started on Dec 31, 2025 to end on Jun 01, 2025.
In 2025, EBN partnered with Startup Portugal to deliver the "General Course in Incubation Management – Level 2: Science, Technology and Impact", a specialised capacity-building programme designed to strengthen the quality, strategic maturity, and impact of Portugal's national incubation network (RNI).
Delivered across six interconnected online sessions, the programme focused on three pillars: impact measurement as a strategic management tool, knowledge valorisation and university engagement, and deep-tech incubation and scaling pathways. Each session combined expert walkthroughs, peer discussion, operational templates, and case studies from accredited EU|BICs to ensure learning could be immediately translated into organisational practice.
The programme attracted a carefully selected cohort of incubation professionals from the Startup Portugal RNI network. Participation remained high throughout all sessions, with a significant proportion of attendees completing the full training pathway and qualifying for certification.
Most respondents indicated they will implement elements of the EU|BIC Impact Framework, demonstrating that the programme triggered concrete institutional action. The collaboration helped professionalise incubation management practices, reinforce the credibility of Portuguese incubators with funders and partners, and strengthen their role within Portugal's innovation ecosystem.
