EBN Board of Directors officially appoints Laura Lecci as new CEO of EBN

Per 1 February 2021, Ms Laura Lecci is officially appointed as  CEO of the EBNSecretariat in Brussels after a 6-months period as ad interim CEO succeeding to Javier Echarri in July 2020. 
Through this official appointment, the EBN Board of Directors has shared their will to take the EBN network to new heights and to acknowledge Laura Lecci’s leadership and commitment during her mandate as ad interim CEO.
 
“Let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support that many of you have shown since my appointment as interim CEO and of the team for their unconditional trust on me. I am aware of the challenges and difficulties, but I do believe in the potential of the network and that is what I will put forward during my mandate.  Be confident in the commitment of the whole secretariat towards EBN and its members: with kindness and passion we will make sure everyone finds its place and we will make our very best to serve the community” declared Laura Lecci after receiving the good news of her official appointment.
 
M.A. graduate from the University of Trieste (Italy) in International and Diplomatic Relations, Laura Lecci’s journey at EBN started in 2012 as Project Manager and in February 2019 as Chief Operational Officer. 
In her role as ad interim CEO she already left her mark on the EU|BIC Community and the EBN Secretariat through her strong will to better serve the members and to make each one of them feel included, leading all her efforts to further professionalization of the team, to the design and implementation of a new service offer and to reassert the position of the EU|BIC community in the innovation ecosystem in Europe and beyond.
 
In a challenging year marked by the coronavirus crisis, Laura Lecci managed to achieve the priorities set by the Board of Directors confirming their trust in choosing her to make the voice of EBN members heard by the key European stakeholders, connect regional innovation ecosystems and to bring innovation at the top of the policymakers’ agenda.
