Startup Leiria becomes Certified EU|BIC
Startup Leiria (Portugal) is now the latest quality certified EU|BIC!
Having successfully undergone the accreditation process, Startup Leiria proved to meet high standards in business support services, ensuring Leiria region’s innovative entrepreneurs with the right capacity and ecosystem for them to thrive. Their EU|BIC Certification and trademark will be valid for 5 years, having started in January 2022.
Startup Leiria fosters sustainable economic development of the region through support to young innovative entrepreneurs, tech entrepreneurs, research students, big companies, and their spin-offs. The new EU|BIC implements social impact programmes, developing a comprehensive set of services to help impact-driven entrepreneurs start new businesses.
It manages currently two incubators located in different parts of the city. One incubator provides services in the field of digitalization, circular economy, or tourism. The second incubator is entirely dedicated to hosting social innovation initiatives. Furthermore, Startup Leiria will open a third incubator of 1841m2 in 2022.
What is an EU|BIC? Certified EU|BICs use business and innovation as a force for regional (economic, social, and sustainable) development with the best possible actions to create thriving startups and SMEs. EU|BICs meet the highest verified standards in business support services and take real steps to ensure that their services are best advantageous to their clients and support greater wellbeing in their regions.
