Diego De Biasio Assumes Role of President of EBN, European Business and Innovation Centre Network
[Brussels, 14 June 2023] — The European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) is pleased to announce the appointment by the EBN Board of Directors of Diego de Biasio as its new President. Mr. de Biasio, a seasoned leader in business and innovation, brings a wealth of expertise and a strong vision to propel EBN forward in its mission to foster entrepreneurship and support the growth of innovative businesses across Europe – and beyond.
As the new President of EBN, Diego De Biasio will lead the organisation in promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among EU business and innovation centres (EU|BIC) across the continent. With his extensive background in leadership, entrepreneurship, and technological innovation, Mr De Biasio is ideally positioned to drive EBN’s strategic initiatives, strengthen its network, and champion the interests of its members in the pan-European EU|BIC community.

Diego De Biasio’s impressive career spans over 16 years, during which he has held various senior executive roles, demonstrating his commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth. His remarkable track record includes successful stints in the Luxembourg innovation ecosystem, where he spearheaded transformative projects and facilitated the success of EU|BIC Technoport, where he currently functions as CEO.
Diego de Biasio succeeds Ms Cristina Fanjul (CEO at EU|BIC CEEI Asturias), who expressed her deep gratitude for having had the opportunity to lead EBN as President and guiding the organisation through the challenging period marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the appointment taking place at the 2023 EBN Congress held in Brno (Czechia) today, Ms Fanjul reflected:

As a first act of his Presidency, Mr De Biasio appointed Mr Pietro de Martino as Vice President. EU|BIC F.I.L.S.E.’s (Italy) Incubation Manager and the Italian representative on the EBN Board of Directors, Mr De Martino held several senior business management responsibilities within public initiatives. He has been extensively involved in national and European enterprise creation initiatives for over 25 years, including acting entrepreneurship, innovation and incubation advisor at the international level with collaboration experience with the European Commission, and other international organization like UNIDO and ILO.
As EBN’s new President, Mr De Biasio will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, member organizations, and various stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that promote entrepreneurial growth, knowledge transfer, and collaboration within the European business ecosystem.
The EBN Secretariat team led by CEO Laura Lecci and the Board of Directors express their utmost confidence and excitement looking to the upcoming leadership term under Mr De Biasio’s Presidency supported by Vice President Mr De Martino.
