Last 16 November 2023, EU|BIC Cap Innove located in Nivelles (Belgium), the incubator originally created by the ULB in Brussels, celebrated 40 years of uninterrupted success. Founded in 1983 by Professor Jean-Claude Ettinger from Solvay Business School, Cap Innove joined the EU|BIC Community in 1989 and has since then contributed to the development of the Brabant-Wallon region by nurturing the local innovation ecosystem through the support of innovative entrepreneurs and startups.

Today, Cap Innove supports about sixty new startups and companies per year in its 10 000 sqm centre which includes a seminar centre, large catering facilities and rooms for major events, and a Makerspace. But the jewel of this incubator’s crown is its three clusters where start-uppers can test their products and technologies in a cutting-edge environment.

  • ID2Move, an incubator specialising in autonomous systems with a particular focus on drones.
  • ID2Food, the ecosystem made for producers, processors, entrepreneurs and consumers with a special focus on Food & Agri Tech.
  • ID2Green, an ecosystem focused on sustainable development, was also created in 2021. This celebration was an opportunity to present their new logo and the 360° vision of Cap Innove who is firmly focused on the future and on societal challenges such as resilience, transition, and transforming our economy.  Guy Bouckaert, Director of Cap Innove since 2108 shared his ambitions stating, “Helping a Walloon entrepreneurial business to grow can only be achieved at some point through international expansion.”

As invited guests representing EBN, Nathalie Marchand and Amal El Ghadfa, had the opportunity to enjoy this afterwork event eating amuse-bouche served by robots, testing drone soccer play and seeing some amazing demonstrations of start-ups being supported by Cap Innove.
