Empowering Innovation: EBN and EU|BIC CEEI Burgos Celebrate Women Entrepreneurs in Brussels
We had the privilege of hosting an inspiring event that showcased the remarkable contributions of women entrepreneurs from EU|BIC CEEI Burgos, Spain. As part of the “Incibe Emprende, Emprendedoras de Burgos” programme, these talented women visited Brussels to explore innovation opportunities and resources facilitated by EBN and our partners.
CEEI Burgos, a certified member of the EU|BIC community in Spain, brought together a delegation of 16 dynamic women entrepreneurs. In collaboration with BeCentral, a pivotal innovation hub in Brussels, EBN organised an interactive tour to introduce these entrepreneurs to the vibrant Brussels innovation ecosystem.
This visit was designed to highlight the global connections, projects, and proximity to European institutions that EBN offers to its members, fostering regional economic development and enhancing entrepreneurial success.
First Stop: BeCentral
The tour commenced at BeCentral, a digital campus situated at Brussels Central Station. Founded and supported by over 60 entrepreneurs, Be Central is dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds to be active participants in the digital revolution. The campus hosts digital schools, startups, and NGOs within its 10,000 sqm of incubation space, featuring renowned firms like Google and Proximus alongside numerous researchers and startups.
Second Stop: EBN Offices
Following the inspiring visit to BeCentral, we moved to the EBN offices, enjoying the sunny sights of Brussels along the way. At EBN, the women entrepreneurs presented their projects, sharing insights into their development stages and business perspectives. The diversity of ideas, ranging from agrifood to digitalisation, was truly enriching.
Laura Lecci (EBN CEO) and Gonzalo Abril (EBN) elaborated on how being part of the EBN community can elevate their businesses. We discussed the extensive services EBN offers to certified members like CEEI Burgos, highlighting opportunities from EBN-managed projects and the robust networking potential within our community. This dialogue fostered a closer connection with our members and their clients, aligning with our mission to support regional economic development.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this visit a success. Special gratitude to Manuela Mio and Charlene Crespel for hosting us at BeCentral, and to Juan Carlos Martinez Barrio and David Tome, mentors from CEEI Burgos, for their invaluable collaboration.
