Incibe Emprende, Emprendedoras de Burgos at EBN: a day of inspiration and connection

Back to all posts

On the 21st and 22nd of May, we had the pleasure of once again hosting an inspiring visit from the Emprendedoras de Burgos programme, organised by EU|BIC CEEI Burgos as part of the Incibe Emprende initiative. This year, 20 remarkable women entrepreneurs travelled from Spain to Brussels to explore innovation opportunities and learn more about the support available through EBN and our European network.

CEEI Burgos, a certified member of the EU|BIC community, continues to play a key role in supporting women entrepreneurs in the region. In collaboration with BeCentral, one of Brussels’ leading innovation hubs, the EBN has organised a two-day programme designed to immerse participants in the local innovation ecosystem and strengthen international connections.

Day one: Discoering Innovation at BeCentral

The visit began at BeCentral, a dynamic digital campus located at Brussels Central Station. Guided by Manuela Mio, the entrepreneurs toured the space and learned how BeCentral fosters digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and learning for all. They explored how the campus integrates startups, digital academies, and major tech companies, offering a vibrant environment where innovation thrives.

Day two: EBN Premises

On the second day, the group was welcomed to the EBN offices, where our CEO, Laura Lecci, opened the session with a warm and encouraging message about the critical role of women in Europe’s innovation landscape.

Our colleague Gonzalo Abril provided an overview of the EU|BIC model, highlighting how EBN supports certified members like CEEI Burgos and their startups through tailored services, international connections, and access to EU-funded projects. The entrepreneurs also shared their business ideas and current development stages, with projects ranging from agritech and digital services to education and sustainability, showcasing the diversity and strength of female entrepreneurship in Burgos.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank Manuela Mio for their generous welcome at BeCentral, and Juan Carlos Martínez Barrio and David Tomé, mentors from EU|BIC CEEI Burgos, for their ongoing dedication to empowering the next generation of women entrepreneurs.

To the 20 incredible entrepreneurs who joined us — your passion, creativity, and ambition continue to inspire us and strengthen the EU|BIC community. We look forward to many more collaborative initiatives that drive inclusive innovation across Europe and beyond.
