Lebanon Connect is an initiative aimed at fostering collaboration in research, development, technology, and innovation between Lebanese and EU stakeholders, including innovation centers, companies, business support organizations, researchers, research institutions, industries, and the diaspora. Through a series of both digital and in-person matchmaking events, Lebanon Connect seeks to bridge gaps between academia, researchers, innovators, and industry, creating strategic partnerships that drive innovation and technology transfer. The initiative targets key sectors such as ICT, Health, Agrifood, Trade, and Business Development, with a specific focus on addressing post-war challenges and solutions. By providing a critical platform, Lebanon Connect enables Lebanese and EU stakeholders to come together to transform groundbreaking research into practical applications, develop new products and services, and build sustainable, long-lasting business partnerships.

The core objective of Lebanon Connect is to facilitate the integration of Lebanese talents—including researchers, innovators, R&D departments, and academia—into global value chains, particularly within the EU. This way, leveraging the expertise and global connections of the Lebanese diaspora, the events seek to boost Lebanon’s innovation ecosystem while ensuring that EU industries benefit from the unique expertise and solutions developed in Lebanon.

Capitalisation on Lebanon Connect 1 and 2
Lebanon Connect 3 is designed to capitalize on the tangible outcomes and lessons of the first two editions. Lebanon Connect 1, hosted via B2Match, successfully tested a digital matchmaking model that demonstrated the appetite among Lebanese and European stakeholders for structured, cross-border innovation partnerships. Lebanon Connect 2, held as part of the high-visibility Power X event in Beirut, deepened this engagement by bringing together ecosystem actors in person, enabling valuable face-to-face exchanges and highlighting the role of innovation in Lebanon’s reconstruction and economic resilience. Lebanon Connect 3 will leverage the matchmaking data, contacts, and sectoral insights generated during these two events to identify active participants, nurture existing leads, and engage previous contributors—particularly from the ICT, Health, and Agrifood sectors—in more targeted and results-driven collaborations. The event will also re-engage diaspora experts who participated in prior editions, ensuring continuity and cumulative impact across the Lebanon Connect series. 87% of participants from Lebanon Connect 2 were interested to participate in another edition. Links with North American diaspora is also a possibility of this third session.
Lebanon Connect 3
Lebanon Connect 3 builds on the momentum of previous editions to offer a fresh direction for Lebanese collaboration with the diaspora—this time with a wider global lens. The two-afternoon, fully virtual event will strengthen innovation-driven cooperation by integrating Lebanese talent and innovation ecosystems not just within the EU, but also with the North American innovation and startup ecosystem, and deeper participation of diaspora professionals across continents. This edition aims to particularly leverages the Lebanese diaspora, so that they can fully take ownership of the event and contribute to its co-construction from the start. It will empower Lebanese innovators and institutions to collaborate with their global counterparts across three priority sectors: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Health, and Agrifood. The event leverages digital matchmaking tools to enable high-impact partnerships in research, innovation, and business. Anchored by interactive diaspora-led sector panels and dedicated matchmaking sessions this edition will amplify Lebanon’s role in global value chains and innovation ecosystems.
