EUSPA / EBN webinar: Space Technologies for Healthcare
Data from satellites have become an essential source of information unlocking new business opportunities and enabling non-existing use cases. EBN together with the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) organises a series of webinars showcasing how space data enriches industries already today. During the webinars, the EUSPA will introduce the EU Space programmes and activities towards entrepreneurs and start-ups, deep dive into how space data can enrich different sectors and examples of existing projects.
You are invited to the 7th webinar of our series focusing on Space Technologies for Healthcare.
Space data presents a huge potential for applications in different industries, including Healthcare. In fact, Earth Observation data and Global Satellite Navigation System (GNSS) have become part of our daily lives already. Earth observation (EO) helps fight contagious and infectious diseases, thereby supporting prevention, early warning and healthcare planning. It is a source of information for mHealth applications, for instance, helping people with allergies or heart diseases or sports & well-being enthusiasts. Earth observation data contributes to timely water quality monitoring and predicting heatwave risks by advising vulnerable people with behavioural advice.
Healthcare start-ups and companies are already using space data to better understand the diseases to be treated, recommend citizens about upcoming air pollution or UV-index levels, or forecast pollen allergy symptoms.
The potential for new innovative solutions and value-added services using space data to protect overall and enrich the health of citizens, enhance prevention and address health risks related to environmental conditions and the spread of diseases is enormous. In this webinar, participants will learn about the trends and application of satellite data in Healthcare and existing use cases.
