Ayuntamiento de Madrid - Direccion General de Innovacion y Promocion de la Ciudad

Madrid Emprende, focuses its international activity of attracting foreign entrepreneurs to Madrid in “Madrid International Lab”.

The Madrid International Lab is our latest project in our aim to attract and retain international talent in Madrid.

Our aim is creating a truly international hub in the city joining in one single space just at the town center three international agents: foreign companies, international entrepreneurs and multinational organizations.

These two services are provided in Madrid International Lab:

-“Softlanding Madrid”, to help foreign companies to set up in the city. In addition to the 6 months free of charge office space in a coworking basis and meeting rooms, we also provide information and advise on legal, fiscal and mercantile matters.

Due the quality of the services, our "Madrid Soft Landing" was recognized by the American NBIA (National Business Incubation Association).

-“Madrid Startup” for International entrepreneurs leading startups in Madrid, specially those coming from Global Business Schools or International Business Accelerators located in Madrid. They are offered an office space, also for 6 months free of charge in a coworking basis, in order to launch their startup. They´ll receive the same services as the foreign companies and will become part of Madrid Emprende Ecosystem.

Since July 2012, Madrid International Lab also hosts the headquarters of the InterAmerican Development Bank for Europe and Israel, which moved their European Offices from Paris to Madrid.

For this project we found the best possible partners (EBN included): the most prestigious Business Schools in the city (IE, IESE and ESADE Business Schools), some important Consultants (Barrabés, Garrigues and EVERIS) and some international Business Accelerators that work in Spain (Wayra, Tetuan Valley, Seedrocket). We are also supported by Telefonica, who powers free fast-wifi to all the building.

We are working hard in order to expand and consolidate an international network of incubation centres similar to ours, in order to make easier and quicker the movement of entrepreneurs among different countries. A special mention of our links with Latin American countries and softlanding initiatives undertaken by them, is required; as well as of our roll as an intermediary between Europe – Middle East and Latin America.
