The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), founded in 2004, is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university in China with an independent campus. It offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs to nearly 10,000 students from 70+ countries. Recognized as a 5-star institution by QS Stars Rating, it has a national postdoctoral research station and ranks highly in global academic rankings, with seven subjects listed by Shanghai Ranking (2024) and six in the top 1% of ESI. Over 40 scholars were named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.
UNNC has three faculties:
- Nottingham University Business School China, accredited by EQUIS and AACSB (held by less than 6% of business schools globally).
- Faculty of Science and Engineering, with 12 majors holding international certifications.
- Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, a leader in teaching and research.
The university maintains 160 partnerships in 40+ countries, expanding study abroad opportunities. In 2023, 30% of graduates pursuing further studies were admitted to top 10 global universities, while 80% of employed graduates joined top 500 companies or prestigious institutions. Among master’s graduates, 92% secured top-tier roles, and all doctoral graduates entered renowned universities, research institutions, or industry leaders.
As a driver of innovation and entrepreneurship, UNNC launched the Li Dak Sum Incubator in September 2017, serving as the University’s business hub that bridges global technologies and ideas with local opportunities. Named in honor of Dr. Li Dak Sum, the incubator embodies his spirit of giving back to the community. Today, it supports 48 start-ups and over 120 entrepreneurs from 10 countries and regions, with more than 80% of these companies having an international background. The incubator fosters a globally engaged entrepreneurial community, offering a full lifecycle innovation and entrepreneurship pathway through practical I&E programs, incubation services, and global partnerships.
Recognized for its impact, the Li Dak Sum Incubator has received multiple accolades, including Ningbo Science and Technology Business Incubator (2021), Ningbo Number One Project Best Practice (2023), and Zhejiang Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (2024).
