BIGEE Jamaica
Archived project
This project started on Aug 01, 2024 to end on Mar 31, 2025.
The BIGEE (Boosting Innovation Growth and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems) project supported the development of Jamaica's innovation-based entrepreneurial ecosystem by strengthening the capabilities of 16 Business Support Intermediaries (BSIs) across the island.
The project delivered a full training programme for 55 representatives of these BSIs, focused on improving their sustainability and capacity to support startups with the potential to scale regionally and globally. It also conducted an accreditation assessment of the BSIs based on previously determined criteria, including quantitative data analysis, supporting documentation review, and on-site audits.
EBN led the consultancy, applying its EU|BIC accreditation methodology to the Jamaican context — the first time this quality framework was adapted for Caribbean business support organisations. The project was funded by the Development Bank of Jamaica under its Boosting Innovation Growth and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (BIGEE) programme.
