Incubators in Comoros

This project started on Apr 01, 2022 to end on Apr 30, 2024.
The service’s main objective was to develop a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystems of the Comoros by identify the actors active in supporting directly entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs. Such mapping assessed the actors’ role and functions as well as their interplay within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The mapping enabled the exploration of gaps and constraints of these actors thus facilitating the formulation of recommendation on measures that are most relevant to improve the capacity of entrepreneurial support of the selected actors.
To do this, the project developed the following activities:
- Undertaking of a mapping exercise by analysing the current state-of-play in relation to the incubation industry in Comoros.
- Assessing the initial stage of development of business support intermediaries in Comoros.
- Evaluating the maturity of the different ecosystem actors in relation to the services provided to entrepreneurs/start-ups, including needs and challenges faced by incubators and business support organisations.
- Analysis of the entrepreneurs’ needs – highlighting those not covered (or partially covered) by the actors involved in the incubation eco-system,
- Analysis of the external or internal barriers faced by entrepreneurs in Comoros.
- Create a Roadmap of Capacity building, providing recommendations and prioritization of support needed for entrepreneurs as well as the identification of actors that could provide this support to SMEs and entrepreneurs.
