EBN took part in the African Start Up Conference, organised in Algier, Algeria last 6th to the 8th of December 2025. Raffaele Buompane, Senior Advisor at EBN, was invited by the organiser, the  Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises (MKESM) and the GIZ (Gesellschaft fur die Internationale Zusammenarbeit) Algeria, within the framework of the Green and Digital Economic Development in Algeria (DGA) GIZ funded project.

The African Startup Conference is the ultimate Pan-African stage for innovation and entrepreneurship, and its 4th edition celebrated the “African Champions” bold startups, visionary investors, forward-thinking policymakers, and a vibrant diaspora all coming together to shape a competitive, sovereign, and world-class tech ecosystem.

EBN is collaborating with the MKESM and GIZ on a study examining the capacities and needs of Algerian Startup Support Organisations, as well as their complementary capacity development. This initiative primarily involves delivering training on Capacity Assessment of SSOs for key ecosystem institutions, leveraging EBN’s extensive experience as the primary European organisation supporting incubation at the continental level.

More specifically, EBN is offering a practical framework for technical staff of Algerian institutions working in the local start-up ecosystem, wishing to implement the EU|BIC, meet its four mission commitments and build a robust impact measurement and reporting system.
