EBN, the European Business and Innovation Centre Network was a first time attendee at the 3rd Atlantic Stakeholder Platform conference in Dublin. Joe Greaney, a recent past EBN President and CEO of WestBIC, was invited to address the conference ands to showcase in the opening ceremony some Irish innovation success stories that have been supported by the Business Innovation Centre.
Joe said that it was important for EBN and the BICs to support the Atlantic Strategy and to help optimise on the potential for well targeted global standard Applied Innovation support in the sector to drive the job creation agenda and the sustainability of the Atlantic Area Regions.
“We are relative newcomers to the Atlantic Strategy stakeholder group and I’ve seen the value for us and our network to better connect with key players and together promote entrepreneurship and innovation in this field. We will be happy to offer our full support”.
With the support of EBN it is now proposed to invite all EU|BICs in the Atlantic area to join the Irish BICs and participate actively in the forthcoming Atlantic plan activities.
It is hoped the BICs can enhance the Atlantic Plan’s networking and clustering actions by sharing good practise and hence add real value to future actions, projects, events, road-shows and of course participate actively in the next stakeholder conference and ensure meaningful dissemination to our SEM community.
EBN and its EU|BICs will also promote key actions via their diverse communication channels and mobilise other innovation networks. “There is a lot we can do to help” added Greaney.
