The Global Entrepreneurship Congress, organised by the Global Entrepreneurship Network will take place from 14th March to the 17th March 2016 at the Plaza Mayor Convention and Exhibition Center in Medellin, Colombia.
This conference is an entrepreneurial ecosystem, to take shape around the world, connecting people across borders to unleash their ideas and transform innovation into reality—in turn growing economies and expanding human welfare.
Medellin is also the city hosting EBN Member, Ruta N . Juan Camilo Quintero, Director of Ruta N, was one of the delegates participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2014 in Russia, where the Colombian delegation competed with four other countries: México, Australia, Germany and Qatar.
But why Medellin?
When he first visited Medellín in 2014, Jonathan Ortmans, founder and President of the Global Entrepreneurship Week was impressed by the high number of social innovation projects that had been developed in the city. So was he by Ruta N , the Business Innovation centre which hosts over 80 local and foreign innovative companies from 16 countries with disruptive ideas.
Recognised as the most innovative city in 2013 by the Wall Street Journal, City Group y Urban Land Institute, Medellín has become a worldwide reference for delegations who want to learn about transformation processes and the forward looking vision of a city whose goal is to become by 2023 the capital of innovation in Latin America.
