European Business Summit (EBS), an annual event gathering leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs, among them EBN CEO Javier Echarri, met on 23-24 May 2018 to discuss global trends and their impact on the European Union. This year, the summit gathered over 1700 participants, 170 speakers and more than 100 journalists coming from all around the world.
How to lead in a changing world, how to digitise EU’s industry, how a business can integrate those living in a poverty, how can businesses protect themselves from cyber threats – were some of the key topics discussed.
EU high-level officials among them Antonio Tajani, President of European Parliament, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for trade, participated in the event, together with representatives of European Central Bank, OECD, Cisco, Google, Unilever, Coca Cola, etc.
As a panellist in EBS’ session ”Creativity at the heart of businesses, a key to success?”, Javier Echarri talked about what innovation and creativity in the context of EBN Members and EU|BICs mean and how creativity and innovation are nurtured in business innovation centres and research universities from just an idea to commercialisation and international success.

EBN Entrepreneur of the Month section captures some of those successful stories, Javier noted – guided by EBN’s business support methodology, certified EU|BICs provide vital support to thousands of entrepreneurs every day, helping them shape their creative ideas into viable businesses, often with a social impact.
To know more about EU|BICs and their work on supporting entrepreneurs, join Javier Echarri and EBN Members at the EBN Congress “Future of Innovation” (6-8 June 2018, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg) where trends on growth, space and industry will be part of the discussions.
